Evaluation Budget Template

After our latest #EvalTwitter chat, Kavita and I shared we had been passed down templates from mentors to use for our budgeting (huge shout out the Tiffany Berry for sharing this with me and all of her students at CGU!). These were really useful for us, and another person asked for us to share them. So here it is!This is not the prettiest template in that if you add rows/columns, you'll have to double check all your formula cells to ensure all the required cells are included in the calculations. So be cautious and double check everything! However, I like this template for two reasons. First, it requires me to know (a) what methods are planned and (b) what tasks are involved with each method. This information is extremely useful when creating the timeline for the project, which I recommend you do at the same time as the budget. Second, it allows me to calculate both (a) salary costs per individual and (b) evaluation task costs. Especially knowing the evaluation task cost allows me to identify areas that could be cut if the client says the budget is out of their range (however, an important caveat: you need to know how your methods map on to your evaluation questions to ensure you're still able to adequately answer your questions!).If you're interested in using the template, you can download it here.
